The Roti-Clean filter seems to be working great, but I am still not crystal clear about rotifer cultures. I wish Reef Nutrition would provide better guidance on how to start and maintain these cultures. I have already crashed two trying this andâŚ. Heck itâs not cheap. Help!
Hello Cliff,
Thanks so much for your reivew and comments.
We have some information here that might be helpful: https://reefnutrition.com/pages/clownfish-101. There is a section on rotifer culture with an FAQ towards the bottom. Hopefully, this is useful.
If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to message me: chad@reedmariculture.com. I'd be more than happy to assist.
Best,
Chad
This product is easy to use and clean, making rotifer culture less cumbersome and time consuming. It is also incredibly effective in removing waste from my rotifer culture, and my rotifer culture has been growing stably for a while now as a result.
I bought this filter as part of a kit sold by Reef Nutrition. I have two aquacultureâs as thatâs what was recommended. One backs up the other. Both cultures are thriving however the one with the filter is a lot less maintenance than the other. The water is clean, no green particles floating in the water which greatly helps with the fry tank cleanliness and helps when âcountingâ the rotifers and straining them. Iâve ordered a second filter for the backup culture.
2 weeks in and I love it. Does what itâs supposed to do. Fits right on a 5 gallon bucket. Keeps the water clean. Doesnât trap any rotifers. Still clean the bucket every other day and clean the filter out every few days. Works great. Rotifer culture is thriving.
